April 14th 2004 - Finally after a bit of a break we are back with some great meeting updates from the last couple of major events the Dalton Automotive team have attended! Lets start with the HeathcotePark Revhead Rubberfest.........We made the trek to Heathcote and just made it in time for the final qualifying session to record an off the trailer P.B E.T of 8.15 @ a backing off 162mph. This put us in the top qualifying position for the top 8 class. After running 2 rounds both recording wins we fronted for the final and our competitor had problems and couldn't compete so we had a solo pass and took the win. We were happy with our E.T and are looking forward to racing at this years Sydney Jamboree.
The 2004 Sydney Jamboree was run on 27th - 28th March at the new WSID complex, Check out the full coverage here!
March 5th 2004 - Calder Park held its weekly street meet last Friday with a huge crowd in attendance. The Series 6 was there as we were trying out its new fuel pump pulley setup that gave us dramas in Adelaide. The car went 8.42@162mph, the car is now ready for the Heathcote Park Rubberfest on the 13th March 2004.
Adelaide 4, 6 & Rotary Nationals 2004 was held on the 14th & 15th of February at AIR and the weather was bloody hot making it hard for cars and crew. Unfortunately we suffered fuel problems early in the day resulting in half track passes. When night fell eliminations began after winning the 1st round we came up against our friend Grant Williams in the 2nd round only to throw the fuel pump belt off at 3/4 track resulting in one of the closest races of the day. Even though our car ran a quicker ET than Grants Probe, Grants quicker reaction time won him the race. This resulted in our team taking home the prize money for reaching the semi-finals and we would like to congratulate Grant on winning the whole event.
February 10th 2004 - The Dalton Automotive Series 6 made the trip to Calder Park last friday for it's weekly street meet. The car was turning the tyres off the line for a less than best 1.25 60ft time but still managed its fastest trap speed of 165.9mph. The best E.T for the night being an 8.34.
See you in Adelaide this weekend for the 2004 4,6 & Rotary Nationals! A few of our cars will be there including the Series 6, Paul Pfeiffer's 8 second RX7 & Glen's 11 second Series 5 RX7!
January 27th 2004 - Congratulations to Paul Pfeiffer in his RX7 for cutting a PB of 8.70 at 156mph last Friday night at a Calder Park street meet. Paul is very happy with the way the car is going now after a few early problems and it won't take long to for these times to tumble.
The Dalton Automotive Series 6 RX7 made one pass later in the night to test some changes made to gearbox ratio's, it completed a close to best 8.24 at 164.9mph and did it quite easily....check out the pass on the movies page! The RX7 will be back at Calder next Friday (alot earlier!) after some suspension tuning during the week.
Updates Included are : Movies & Top10

16th December 2003 - Steve's Pro-Street RX2 was on the dyno this week and made a very healthy 370kw's at the wheels! This run was completed with a full exhaust system and aircleaner! The car has headed back to Sydney and Steve is planning to hit Eastern Creek early next year!
3rd December 2003 - Geelong held it's Speed Trials meeting last month....we were not allowed to participate in the drag racing due to the standard of the road surface and short run off (normal everyday street!), but the car was on display and attracted alot of interest!

Steve's Pro-Street RX2 is nearing completion, here's a couple of update pics!

Joe's VS 5 litre ute has recently had a cam and computer chip upgrade with an impressive 160 rear wheel Kilowatts! The engine is about to have some serious mod's done so stay tuned for updates!

Ben's VN 5 litre Commodore came in for it's first stage of power upgrades which consisted of a LT Series Microtech computer. In the next couple of weeks we will be fitting a supercharger and larger injectors, so stay tuned for updates!

13th November 2003 - On Friday night at CalderPark - The Dalton Automotive RX7 went 8.22@163mph! Still with a "less than best" 60 ft time in the high 1.2's due to wheel spin off the start line the RX7 is well on its way to our goal of consistant 7' second ET's with a 13B engine! Then off to Heathcote Park the following Sunday..........
Even though it was raining in Geelong, once we got to Heathcote there was not a cloud in the sky and the sun was blazing to raise the temperature to around 28 degrees! It was a good turnout of Geelong based cars as well as a couple from the Dalton Automotive stable! The Series 6 was having slight traction issues but still managed a 8.34 at 163.9mph and then a 8.39 at a best 165.17mph!
Paul Pfeiffer also made the trip from Ballarat in his awesome looking Series 2 RX7 Dragcar. Unfortunately he experienced wastegate problems and only got 1 pass.
And of course the Top 10 has been updated!!
Don't forget to come and say hello to us at the Geelong Speed Trials this Weekend at Eastern Beach. The Series 6 will be there on display, and who knows they might even let us loose on the track!!.........
5th November 2003 - On Saturday the Dalton Automotive crew made the trek to Adelaide with Series 6 in tow for the 1st competition meeting in the summer series. The weather was overcast with light showers throughout the day including a strong headwind. Once again the RX7 performed faultlessly all day with 7 runs with a best of 3 8.3 second passes at just over 162mph before the rain stopped the meeting in the early evening. We are happy with the cars consistancy and next week we will start to increase the boost to help lower our ET's. Stay tuned for our report after the Heathcote event this weekend.
Top 10 has been updated......yay!
Mark's "Wild" Blown Chev powered LC Torana was in for a dyno session. The tubbed coupe certainly rattled the windows with no exhaust, a change from the usual turbo charged vehicles. Proving once again for all your dyno tuning needs contact Dalton Automotive!

Leigh's 200 rear wheel KW Ex BT1 VL Turbo is up for sale! With full roadworthy for only $12,500. For futher details contact us.

18th October 2003 - At todays Calder-Park comp car meeting, Chris and the crew were in attendance to start the tuning process on the RX7. Since the recent change of fuel brand our recent problem with injectors blocking were cured. With lower boost than we intend to run the cars 1st qualifying pass was an 8.64@158.9mph. Next pass Chris gave the car more rpm in each gear resulting in an 8.50@161.2mph. First round of eliminations the team decided on an 8.35 dial-in. Chris cut a near perfect light with a .410 reaction time and won the race with an 8.42@161.91mph. Second round Chris won the race with a .45 reaction time and an 8.47@161.5mph. In the semi-final after an oil down from a previous car the Series 6 suffered wheelspin in the first half of the track resulting in a losing 8.6@159mph.
The car ran faultlessly all day with the only problem being slower than normal 60 ft times. Our next meeting is in 2 weeks at Adelaide International Raceway where we intend to lean off the fuel mixtures and concentrate on running quicker numbers. Chris and the car will be running in Super Stock, Group 2 Competition.
